Just seven weeks remaining until we launch!
Just 50 days until we paddle into the north sea leaving Suffolk behind to kayak, cycle and walk our way to the Spanish border!
It has been a busy and celebratory month in the Dove Step camp.
Firstly, we have a new squab in the Dove Step roost! Kayak team member Goodrick and his good lady delivered Ms Eva Rose Goodrick into the world. She is already thriving and in the company of a Turtle Dove! Huge congratulations!
Introducing the youngest Dove Stepper – Ms Eva Rose Goodrick.
Training is gathering momentum too and despite the short, wintery, dark month that is February we have collectively clocked lots of road miles and even a little paddle time.
Dove Stepper Stu clocking winter training miles.
Out with Dove Step fellow Big Tony for a borderline hypothermic ride!
Training paddle with Dove Step fellow Mr Mark Kemp – in much more Spring like conditions!
We are super pleased to announce that Bird Watching Magazine
and Today’s Plan
have come on board as supporters of this year’s journey. Watch out for a Dove Step feature in upcoming editions of Bird Watching Magazine and we will be using Today’s Plan to focus our remaining weeks training.
Wearing Turtle Doves on our hearts! In this case not far from a Turtle Dove tattoo.
Be sure to check out the Climate Coalition website.
The next weeks are filled with concerted training and finalising the route and logistics. We remain super chuffed with our Bridgedale socks
and hats – both constant companions whilst training.
As I type, the next batch of Dove Step ale is also underway at BlackBar Brewery
– so as we head south you will be able to raise a glass of BlackBar’s finest to toast our success!
